For the convenience of our Edmonton and area massage therapy clients, we are happy to provide direct billing for massage therapy to all major carriers, including Great West Life, Blue Cross, ASEBP (Alberta Teachers), Greenshield, Sunlife, Manulife, Chambers of Commerce, Desjardins, Cowan, Industrial Alliance, Johnson Inc, Maximum Benefit & Standard Life.
Please be aware of the following conditions and stipulations associated with our Direct Billing policy:
Clients are responsible to ensure their benefit plan covers massage therapy. Some plans require a doctor's note which must be submitted to their carrier. We cannot accept doctor's notes, they must be submitted by the client to their health plan carrier.
We require a credit card on file when direct billing, the only exception to this is when we direct bill to Blue Cross. Quite often there is an outstanding amount which occurs when a plan doesn't pay out 100% of the treatment, and this allows us to bill you the remaining amount without you having to make a trip back to the centre.
If it's your first visit please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment to allow time to fill out your paperwork, and provide us with your direct billing information. Out of respect for the client whose appointment is immediately following yours, all our appointments will end on time, even if they aren’t started on time. Once we have your direct billing information we will not require you to provide it again at your next appointment.
We can only direct bill to one insurance company at a time, and if you are covered by your own insurance as well as a spouse/partner’s plan, the insurance rules are that you must claim against your own plan first.
